Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Anchorage - Denali National Park
The tour begins in Anchorage where you meet your travel companions and your Alaska guide. Journey north to Denali Alaska and enjoy lunch in Talkeetna and a delicious salmon bake dinner in McKinley Village. An optional flightseeing tour of Mt. McKinley is also available. Spend the first night in cabins just south of the park.

Day 2 - Denali - Paxson
Enjoy a Alaskan wildlife tour of Denali, including the history of the region. The remainder of the day includes a leisurely drive to Paxson, stopping along the way to view the remarkable scenery. Spend the night at the Tangle River Inn.

Day 3 - Paxson - McCarthy
Travel to Chitina by following an old rail road grade 60 miles into the heart of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park (the country’s largest). Cross the Kennicott River by footbridge (the only way of crossing) to reach historic McCarthy. Enjoy dinner at the old McCarthy Lodge and overnight in the Ma Johnson Hotel.

Day 4 - Kennicott & Valdez
Accompanied by your Alaska travel guide, explore the abandoned mining town of Kennicott. Next, walk on the face of Root Glacier, then over Thompson Pass and into the coastal town of Valdez, where you will spend the night in a B&B.

Day 5 - Valdez - Hope & Prince William Sound
Cross scenic Prince William Sound by ferry on a seven hour voyage to Whittier. Take a short detour to the magnificent Columbia Glacier before you continue your Alaska tour through mountain tunnels and the Kenai Mountains. Spend the fifth night of your Alaska vacation at Bear Creek.

Day 6 - Seward - Hope & Kenai Fjords National Park
Enjoy a spectacular passenger yacht tour of Kenai Fjords National Park to view marine wildlife and hanging glaciers on your Alaska tour. Return through Moose Pass with your Alaska adventure travel guide to spend the night at the Discovery Cabins.

Day 7 - Depart from Anchorage
Try your luck at gold panning as you explore Hope on the last day of your Alaska vacation. Make sure to leave time in the morning for visiting Alyeska or taking a hike through Girdwood. Your Alaska tour finishes in the late afternoon as you return to Anchorage.
