Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Anchorage Arrival Arrive in Anchorage and transfer on own to your hotel. Enjoy a one-hour Anchorage Trolley Tour this afternoon that will get you acquainted with the sights and charms of the quirky town with its unique frontier spirit. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 2 - Anchorage to Denali
Travel by tour bus to Denali National Park. Upon arrival in Denali spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure exploring the natural wonders of the park. Overnight Denali.
Day 3 - Denali to Fairbanks Wake up early this morning for your 6-8 hr Alaska wildlife tour into Denali National Park - it’s the best time to see the animals. Keep an eye out for grizzly bears, moose, caribou and Dall sheep. After your tour you will collect your luggage and make your way to the train station for an afternoon departure on board Alaska Rail from Denali to Fairbanks - Alaskan travel in style. Overnight Fairbanks.
Day 4 - Fairbanks This morning depart on a full day guided sightseeing tour of Fairbanks, which includes a sternwheeler riverboat cruise. Explore Fairbanks – the largest city in the interior region of Alaska - with a local transportation pass allowing multiple transfers to points of interest and city highlights. A sight worth including on your Alaska tour is Pioneer Park. It contains museums, an old riverboat, and several historic buildings in addition to the Palace Theatre and Saloon, which gives a musical presentation of the history of Fairbanks.
Day 5 - Fairbanks / Arctic Tour Options
Ask your Fresh Tracks agent about taking a guided tour to Anaktuvuk Pass - with crossing of the Alaska Arctic Circle - or a day trip to Barrow. Alternately, you can explore Fairbanks at your own pace. An evening flight returns you to Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage. (Day excursions are NOT included.)
Day 6 - Fairbanks to Anchorage Your Alaska tour comes to an end with check-out from your hotel.
