Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Anchorage
Upon arrival in Alaska you will make your way to your Anchorage hotel for the night by complimentary hotel shuttle bus. You have the remainder of the day to explore the town of Anchorage on own.
Days 2 & 3 - Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Chugach National Forest
Get acquainted with your group as you travel south along the scenic Seward Highway (a USDA National Scenic Byway) to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge on the Kenai Peninsula. Look around your new surroundings to see Alaska mountains - the Chugach Range - towering above you. As you marvel at the scenery, keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife of the region. Tonight is the first opportunity to Alaska camp in these beautiful surroundings near the edge of one of Alaska’s most gorgeous lakes. There is no better way to spend the next day of your Alaska adventure tour than by getting to know the real wild by exploring the many hiking and canoeing opportunities in the area.

Day 4 - Seward
Today you arrive at Seward and Kenai Fjords National Park, home of the 300 square mile Harding Ice Field and abundant marine wildlife. Choose to take advantage of the outstanding hiking here (how often do you get the chance to climb a glacier?) with either the trails at Exit Glacier and Caines Head, or the exhilerating Mt. Marathon climb. The glacier cruise and Alaskan wildlife tour provides a sedate though equally breathtaking alternative. Relax in a comfortable Seward hotel.

Day 5 - Denali National Park
Travel north to Denali National Park. The three highest peaks of Mt. McKinley (20,320 ft.), Mt Foraker (17,400 ft.), and Mt. Hunter (14,573 ft.) all become visible along the way. Nothing will prepare you for your first awe-inspiring glimpse of this remote landscape. Meeting up with the Nenana River the final leg of the journey will lead to Denali National Park. Spend the evening getting to know Denali a little better with a visit to the Visitor Centre or a short hike.

Days 6 & 7 - Denali National Park
With two full days to explore the Denali region you will have a number of Alaska adventures. One day is set aside for an unmissable Alaska wildlife tour into the heart of the Park. Keep your camera on hand as you watch for grizzly bears, black bears, moose, wolves, caribou, Dall sheep, and arctic fox. Tremendous views of North America's largest mountain Mt. McKinley (Denali) are a treat should the weather cooperate. A hike in the wild and remote wilderness will be a perfect detour from the tour. For your remaining day choose from a number of activities - hiking trails of all types near the park entrance, or the very popular and unique dog sled kennel tour led free by the National Park Service.

Day 8 - Anchorage
End the trip with a laid back drive to Anchorage. Plenty of time is allowed for as much sightseeing or hiking as you wish. Upon your evening arrival in Anchorage, you will have the chance to say your goodbyes as you are taken to either a downtown or airport hotel, or the Anchorage airport.

NOTE: On day 8 you will return to Anchorage by approx 5:30 pm either to your hotel or to the airport . If you would like to add a night in Anchorage at the end of your tour please advise as this is not included.
